Suffering happens. Problems and pain are not prevented. Heavy burdens of worry, fear, guilt, and shame are not lifted. We may not know why God allows these things to happen, but we can know and trust in His promise to us: He will not let our feet slip from the path to His Presence.
“Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of His praise be heard, who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip. For You, O God, have tested us; You have tried us as silver is tried. You have brought us into the net; You laid a crushing burden on our backs; You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water, yet You have brought us out to a place of abundance.” (Psalm 66:8-12, ESV)
Stay close to God, beloved. No matter the storm that may surround you, trust in Him and know He loves you! He is there with you. Wait for Him and let Him lead you through.
Through the fire, He will refine you. Just as dross and impurities are drawn out of the silver, He will bring to the surface all of your sins. Filtering out pride, insecurity, self-sufficiency, addictions, false idols, every weakness.
And through the water, He will wash it all away. Cleansing you, sanctifying you.
Praise Him right here and now in your storm.
In your prisons.
With your heavy burdens.
During battles and persecution.
No matter where you are at, pray to your Heavenly Father. He will not reject you. His steadfast love will never be removed from you.
Look for Him. Listen to Him. Lean on Him.
Let God bring you through it…and He will.
He will bring you out of it. Stronger, wiser, healed and made whole. Abundantly satisfied in the new place He led you to. Closer to Him, praising His Holy Name.
“He brought me out into a broad place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.” (Psalm 18:19, ESV)
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you.” (Psalm 32:8, NIV)
